Planning My Life... Starting With My Handwriting

My good friend and fellow Instagramer, @hashtagnia, started using her Mambi planner in December. She had started really talking it up in November, and her excitement has been quite influential. It managed to influence me into purchasing a Happy Planner for myself on Black Friday. Of course, being me, I made the purchase flipped through it, and put it aside thinking "This seems simple enough. I'll be able to just put something cute together in a snap." That was before I started watching the tutorials on Youtube.

These planners are pretty intense and the ladies featuring their designs, doubly so. I mean they plan out a design plan for designing their planner. There are color schemes and designer inspired layouts, custom stickers, washi tape, scrapbooking supplies, and just so much stuff that I'm feeling intimidated enough to ignore my usual glass of crafting time wine. I don't even know how to start, so in my panic, I chose to focus on the most insignificant detail, my handwriting.

I've spent so much of my adult life working with digital media that I've forgotten how to design and craft by hand let alone write things legibly. There is a lot of practice going on. I'm starting to think that this planner is definitely going to be a nice challenge.
